Aquamarine is Latin for "Water of the Sea" and indeed, this gemstone reflects the blue-green ranges of colors that one finds in the oceans of the world. Because of this, sailors often used it as a talisman. Aquamarine folklore also says they preserve mutual love, and keep business dealings true blue.
ecause the aquamarine is in the beryl family, it also has siblings that are gold, yellow-green, pink and colorless. Since they do not posses the color of water, their names are different.
To properly clean your aquamarines just use a soft brush and warm soapy water. Don't use an ultrasonic cleaner because these gems are fragile.
