We accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Paypal. All payments are processed through Paypal's secure system. You do not need a Paypal account to make purchases. For purchases at our Palo Alto store we accept cash, Visa and Mastercard.

*We strive to get your orders processed as quickly and as accurately as possible. All orders (online, phone, or fax) will be fulfilled in the sequence that they are received - our normal processing time is 3-4 business days (Monday - Friday). Delivery times are affected by holiday seasons. Please anticipate delays during peak times.

Local Pick Up:
For local customers we offer a pick up option on orders. If you would like to collect your order from us at 158 University Ave, Palo Alto, CA, select "Local Pick Up" from the shipping options. You will not be charged a shipping fee. When your order is ready we will contact you. Please bring your order number and ID for verification. Orders unclaimed after three weeks will be forfeited and no credit given.
Providing credit card information online
Q I do not like giving my credit card information over the internet. Can I still place an order?
Our website checkout process provides the highest standards of encryption software for internet security. If you still do not wish to submit your credit card information through our secure website, please e-mail your order to us.
The order must include the following:
* Your name and phone number
* list of product numbers
* short description of products
* color/sizes
* quantity desired
* prices
* any special instructions
Once we receive your email a Customer Service Representative will call you to obtain payment information.
We ask that you do not send your credit card number through regular e-mail, as this information can be searched and viewed by a third party.
Please do not cut and paste your cart, as our spam filter will prevent receipt of your email.
We also welcome phone orders. Please call 650 383 3408 with the codes ready to place your order.
Sales Tax
Sales tax will apply to all orders shipped within California where The Bead Shop is a registered business. The sales tax is 8.25%. All orders shipped outside California will not be charged sales tax.
Out of Stock Items
In the event that we are out of an item, your card or Paypal account will be credited within 2-3 business days of placing your order. You will be emailed a confirmation. If the out of stock item is the only item ordered, we will contact you to suggest alternative products.
If we believe the item/s you ordered will be available within a reasonable time period we will contact you and give you the option of waiting for a complete shipment of your order, a partial shipment, or a credit for the missing item/s.
Shipping Rules and Restrictions
Orders are shipped during business days only. Business days are Monday-Friday, excluding federal holidays within the United States.
The shipping cost is a flat rate and includes shipping and handling
There is no tracking confirmation for FPO Military address
Return exceptions
We will refund the amount you paid minus the shipping charges.
We will replace any item that is received defective, cracked, double drilled, or unusable in any way.
Please note all of the following items are non-returnable and final sale (unless defective): all classes, sale items, stringing materials, cord, ribbon, chain, wire, ready-made jewelry, CD, VHS, and DVD, or any other item that is not in it's original condition

We know how much you value your time for beading, and we stand behind all of the products we sell. If you are unhappy with merchandise you have received, please return it in its original condition along with the original or a copy of your invoice within 30 days for a refund* or exchange . If your return is received after the 30 days, you will receive a store credit for the amount, and there will be 20% restocking fee applied . We will NOT accept any returns after 60 days

NOTE : Please package return items with care - wrapped in a bubble padded envelope or box. We cannot issue a refund or store credit for any item that is damaged during transit. We recommend you send your items with tracking confirmation.
Missing/Damaged
If you receive a package that has missing, defective, or the wrong items please contact customer service within 7 days upon receiving your order to make the corrections at info@beadshop.com . (Please include your order ID number, your full name, contact information and a short description of the problem in the email.). A Customer Service Representative will get back with you to inquire and resolve the problem.
In the instance that you receive the wrong item, we will send out the correct item along with postage for the return. Thank you for your cooperation.
Canceled Orders
We cannot cancel any order that has already been shipped. If this happens, please "refuse" the package at the time of delivery or return the package to us per our Return Policy .
We reserve the right to cancel any order that appears to be suspect or fraudulent.
Modifying Orders
Can I make changes to my order after it has been submitted? You may be able to change or cancel your order after you place it but only if the order has not been sent out for fulfillment and shipping. If you have placed your order and want to either cancel or modify it, you MUST do so as soon as possible within the same day. To check if you can make modifications please call Customer Service at 650-383-3408.
We are sorry but we cannot modify or cancel an order after it has been shipped. If this happens, please "refuse" the package at the time of delivery or return the package to us per our Return Policy.
Lost/Stolen Packages
The Bead Shop takes every step possible to ensure the correct delivery of your packages. If we cannot verify your location we will email or call you to confirm the address.
We want you to be happy with your purchase, but The Bead Shop takes no response for lost or stolen packages, particularly when delivery is confirmed by the postal carrier.
Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are available for In Store and Online. Please choose carefully when selecting whether you would like either an In Store or Online gift certificate. In Store gift certificates may not be redeemed at beadshop.com. Online gift certificates may not be redeemed at our Palo Alto store.
Gift Certificates cannot be traded for cash.
Items bought with Gift Certificates cannot be returned for cash, but we are happy to give you a credit towards your next purchase.
The Bead Shop cannot replace lost Gift Certificates.
Any unused balance will be given in the form of a credit receipt.
If your order exceeds the amount of the Gift Certificate, you are responsible for paying the remaining balance.
